Al Quran Academy London is an international research institute and UK registered charity based in London. The institute was founded in 1992 with the noble vision of bringing out books and publications on the Quran following the demand of the Quran in the present world. The first contribution of Al Quran Academy London was the publication of a full glossary on the Quran. This was perhaps the first such publication of its kind in Bengali.
An exceptional publication of the Academy is "My Favourite Quran"-a subject-wise color-linked edition of the Holy Quran, the first of its kind in the history of one thousand years of Quran publication. Another publication is the widely acclaimed “The Holy Quran: A Simple Bengali Translation” by Hafiz Munir Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of Al Quran Academy London.
The publication of the Bengali translation of “Tafseer Fi Zilalil Quran” by Syed Qutb Shaheed was another milestone of the Academy. Full publication of this vast tafseer (commentary of the Quran) in 22 volumes comprising 8000 pages was completed nine years ago. “Tafseer Ibn Katheer” by Hafiz Imad Uddin Ibn Katheer, the top charted commentary of the Quran for a thousand years in terms of popularity, has been published by the Academy recently in 10 volumes.
There are three other Tafseer books to the credit of the Academy. One is “Tarjumanul Quran” by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a renowned scholar of the Quran in the subcontinent. The second one is “Tafseere Osmani” by eminent Islamic scholar Shaikhul Hadith Maulana Shibbir Ahmed Osmani, and the third one is “Asan Tafseer” by Maulana Abu Salim Muhamamd Abdul Hai, a distinguished commentator of the Quran. The project of translating these world famous tafseers will soon be completed.
